In this video, I'm going to cover five things we see broken all the time with small business owners who are just starting up and using Google workspace. So if you're a small business owner, and you've started using Google workspace, you may have set it up in a number of different ways. Maybe it was configured from a hosting provider, like a Wix or a Squarespace and you clicked one button and just automatically set things up. Or maybe you had a friend or a colleague, or maybe your web designer set up an account for you, maybe you signed up yourself, because you were sick of using hotmail or Gmail, and you wanted to move over to the business version of Google that everyone's been talking about. Now, what we see is for many business owners who are in this stage of business, is that they're not really that all that TECHO, you don't necessarily know the difference between an A record and an MX record when it comes to DNS settings. And that's probably not the most important thing for you to be worrying about. Anyway, what we see is business owners wanting to get work done with technology tools, and trying to do it themselves. And we're a business that helps small business owners to do less of the tech yourself and rely on experts so you can focus on your business. So some of the things that can pop up for a small business owner, when they're actually working on the technology in their business is maybe you're migrating between different email addresses, let's say you've got all of your data sitting in Outlook, or maybe it's sitting in Mac mail, then you really want to move that over and across into your new Google workspace account. Or maybe your old data is still sitting on your old laptop and the lid shut and it's in a drawer somewhere. And you're missing out on your old emails and being able to search through them. Some other issues that we see happening pretty commonly is if you're interested in setting up an auto forward, or maybe even an auto reply from your new email address, then you're trying to work out how to get that working correctly. Next up being able to be logged in on your phone, when you've got a mobile phone, making sure that you're signed in properly, some people still use Apple Mail on their phone instead of using the Gmail app. And so things can get a little bit wonky there. And then we see some pretty obvious ones being missed around collaboration. So if you're an early stage business owner, and you're starting to hire your first few staff members, not actually setting up correct shared drives inside of Google Drive, and not using a task management system for managing tasks with your team. Now, when we say business owners getting these things wrong, business can end up in a little bit of a mess, it can feel like everything's going wrong, and nothing's really organized. And you've got new team members starting but you know, maybe you don't have a correct process for onboarding them. If you're managing a task management system just on a whiteboard in your office, or maybe you're just managing it inside your head. Or maybe you're even using a chat program to do your to do's with your team, then you probably don't have one place to know where all of your team's work is happening, what's complete what's incomplete, and where your team are actually up to with the tasks that you've delegated to them. Worst of all, if you're sharing things from your Google Drive, and you haven't set your sharing permissions properly, sometimes you can even lose data, where a contractor creating files for you may actually remove access to those files from your account. And without you having control, you may actually use lose data to some of the important files in your business.
