Dan Draper – Codehire

I started programming computers when I was 12 years old. I’ve always loved technology but even more than that I’ve loved the convergence of business and technology.

I quit Uni in my final year when I took a job with an IT services firm but I only lasted 18 months before I decided to go out and play startup. I teamed up with an old high school buddy, Paul Bladon and together we created NetFox, an IT security company specialising in Internet safety products for schools.

We took on investors, built a team and for a while did pretty well. At only 25 we both got distracted and ended up creating a subsidiary firm, Codefire – a web development and consulting company. After a while we realised that running two companies was not as easy as we thought and NetFox started to struggle. We had a big project go awry with Codefire and ended up close to financial ruin.

At that point I realised I had to focus. Paul took a step back from the businesses and I set about getting things back in shape. I slimmed down the teams and while we kept the NetFox IP, sold off all of its contracts to competitors. I focussed all of my attentions on Codefire and over the next three years was able to grow it to a profitable 14 person shop.

Eventually, though I grew tired of the consulting game and gradually wound the company back to a small, distributed team having sold some IP and contracts and began looking to the next opportunity.

I worked for a year as CTO of a digital marketing firm while I began planning my next venture. With a new business partner, Nathan Hockley, we are building Codehire to help software companies hire and attract better coders.

Australian Investment Property Solutions is a property education & wealth creation business that works with clients to show then a smarter way to invest in the Australian residential property.

AIPSolutions believes that property is a strong asset class and a powerful wealth creation asset for clients to invest in and overtime build wealth and use that created wealth to support their lifestyle or fund their retirement gaols. Property is not a short term goal. It should be an asset you purchase to hold long term. But have thoughts in mind of you end results.

The key fundamentals of investing in the Australian residential property market are ‘Where, What and When to buy’.

These fundamentals are driven by Macro and Micro indicators.

Macro indicators tell us ‘Where to invest”. We look at an area’s population growth, public
and private infrastructure spending, employment, supply and demand and economic health.

Micro indicators tell us ‘What to invest in’. We look at a property’s value, quality, design,
amenities, access to transportation and rental income.

Opportunity and value combined will guide you on ‘when to invest’

Our expertise is based on education, knowledge and research. We help Integrate investment properties seamlessly into our clients lifestyles and offer a complete ‘end to end’ solution for our clients
