Hey, it’s Pete Moriarty. Here in this video, I want to literally take you behind the scenes of what it looks like inside an internal meeting in itGenius. This is our T4 meeting, which we do once a month. And inside this meeting, we actually give the whole company an update on everything that’s happening. But the most important thing is shout outs. And I’m going to tell you why they’re so important and literally how we do them. And I’m going to show you some actual examples of shout outs that we do inside our actual T4 meeting.

I’ve been running a small business for over 12 years and we’ve scaled from a very small organization to now a team of over 40 people, which is pretty crazy. And through our growth roadmap, we help small business owners get connected to their teams, get connected to their technology, and make informed decisions about how to grow and scale your business and how to become a technology-led business. And so what we’re looking to do is help small businesses with their technology, help you with a little bit of your leadership as well, and helping you grow and scale great teams. Now, most of the stuff we talk about is tech, but we also find ourselves talking about a little bit of the kind of human side of business as well. That would include things like culture, things like making sure you’ve got productive teams, and using technology tools to connect.

One of the most important things to do when people are working remotely is to make sure that your team still feel like they’re a team. And when everyone’s gone to remote work, due to COVID and changes in the economy, well you can lose some of that magic of being in the same physical place as each one of your team members. And so we combat this through our process of getting our team together on our T4 meeting. Now we’ve got more in depth videos on T4 inside our Genius Academy, which is exclusive for our concierge members. If you’re interested in that, check out the link below to check out our concierge membership. But I want to tell you a little bit about something in particular called the shout outs. Now, this is the part of the meeting where we take a value of our company values, and we’ll put those up on the screen now, and we take one of those values and actually shout out another team member.

You’re not allowed to shout out someone on your team. It has to be someone who’s not on your team. And so this really promotes cross team collaboration and the team really thanking each other for what they’re doing. Now, the reason this is so powerful is it really empowers everyone in your team to live the values of your company. And these are not just company values that the executive team gets to decide on. There’s a company values that everyone decides that they want to have as a part of the business. Now there’s other videos and resources on how to define your company values and how to get them ingrained in the team. I’m specifically talking about how to shout out your members in what we call Genius of the Week. So I’m going to share a couple of examples with you so you get an idea of just how we shout out our team members and how we use our values to share a team member and highlight a team member that has been an example of that highlight value on any one particular week.

Speaker 2: [inaudible 00:02:55]. I just want to acknowledge and say thank you to Dal. She is the silent worker. She has brought down the turnaround time to less than two months. So I would really would like to acknowledge her hard work for her service plus one.

Speaker 3: My nomination goes to Mary. Just know Mary that the challenges that you have right now will be the legacy that you will leave itGenius. You have been trained well by Isa. You are laying the groundwork and the foundation of what support is going to be at itGenius. Yeah. Good job, Mary. You’re doing a great job with your team.

So you’ve seen a few of our team members shout out their team members as well. I want to invite you to do the same. Define, with your team, what your company values are and then the next time you have an all-hands meeting and you bring everyone together, give your team an opportunity to do some shout outs. Now, if you’re interested in our full rundown, the full agenda of our T4 meeting, exactly how we hold these meetings and how we’ve grown and scaled the business from literally just a couple of people to a global team now of over 40 employees, all the while being successful and profitable as a small business, then you might be interested in checking out our concierge membership where inside Genius Academy, we’ve got videos on how we run our whole business. If you’re interested in that, jump up the link below and have a chat with our team about concierge.

Now, if you’re not ready to jump into that area just yet, well we’ve also got another great free resource for small business owners and that’s our G Suite Community. So if you’re a small business owner, you’re interested in technology, and you want to get a bit more behind the scenes on how we help small businesses and get exclusive videos before they’re published to our YouTube channel, get direct access to me for Q and A on the live videos and participate in everything we do for our community, then you can jump on to the link below to our free Facebook group. It’s called G Suite Community. It’s open for all business owners. Just answer a couple of questions on your way in, and we’ll see you guys in there. Until next one, see you later.
