What is Google Meet?

Google Meet is the new place to go to do meetings, video calls, and anything to connect with your team and outside your business as well.

There are other tools out there like Zoom and Skype, but Google Meet is the easiest and simplest to use if you’re already in the Google ecosystem. It’s heavily integrated with the rest of the Google world like Hangouts Chat, talks to your Calendar, works across all devices, and works in the browser with no downloads and no security concerns.

What are the Features of Google Meet Enterprise?

Here’s a summary of all the cool new features and updates for Google Meet Enterprise:

  • Many schools and colleges today use Meet to power secure virtual classes, PTA meetings, parent-teacher conferences, tutoring, and even school socials can now enable the upgraded Meet at no additional cost.
  • Expanded tiled view that lets you see up to 16 people simultaneously. No need to risk on a tool that has security vulnerabilities just to get that grid view.
  • Sharing a Chrome tab with higher quality audio and video (instead of a window or entire screen) for your presentations.
  • Meet now uses an AI to automatically adjust your video so you’ll be more visible to all participants even with poor light settings.
  • Intelligent noise cancellation to filter out background distractions will also be available in the coming weeks.

How to record Google Meet meetings

‘How to record Google Meet?’ This enquiry arose when teleconferencing and distant learning became more commonplace. There is no doubt that capturing meetings or online webinars for later review is a very useful method.

Thankfully, Google Meet comes with a built-in recorder.

Here’s how you can record your Google Meet meetings:

Step 1: Once in a meeting, click the ellipsis button.

Step 2: Click ‘Record Meeting’

If you can’t see the Google Meet recording feature, click here.

Step 3: When the notification “Ask for consent” appears, click “Accept.”

Additionally, a message that a Google Meet recording is being made will be sent to all participants in the same meeting.

Step 4: Stop Google Meet recording

To stop the Google Meet recording, click the ellipsis and choose “Stop Recording”.

Where are my Google Meet recordings saved?

Google Drive houses your recording files. Ask your meeting organiser for the record files so you can have them right away. If you’re not in a rush, Google Meet will send you an email later that contains the recordings. You can download, play, or share the recorded video by clicking the associated link.
