Here’s a story that we can’t believe we’re actually telling!
Peter recently purchased a top of the line Macbook Pro (ticked nearly every ‘upgrade’ box on the Apple website – he wanted the best)… but after just a couple of weeks using the machine, he knew he had to return it.
Check out his latest video for the full story why:

There are lots of chrome books and lots of brands which one have you got and which one have you got ?
Gday Clover, the machine in the video is the Asus C302CA which is available in our store: http://www.itgenius.com/store. This is our top recommendation which balances price and power.
You can also chat to our team if you’d like to discuss a specific budget or use case.
Cheers!
Yeah Apple post Jobs? Great job, I don’t even need a new computer yet and I want a Chromebook!! Is it touch screen?
Gday Scott. Patrick here from itGenius. This specific model which is a Asus C302CA, is touchscreen capable. There are also basic models which are not touchscreen capable. If you want to know more, you can send a message through the live chat or send us an email to [email protected]. We’d be happy to assist you pick the right Chromebook for you. Cheers!
How do you deal with the fact that the Gsuite does not deal well with, or have the same functionality as Excel, word or other files?
Great question – for starters, you can run Microsoft Office on a Chromebook (through Android Apps or through remote desktop/Office Emulators) so you never have to fully give up Office if you dont’ want to.
Most importantly though – most of our customers will switch to G Suite for the superior collaboration (real time edits, multi-person authoring, unlimited versions and change tracking etc.) and bit by bit (over time), switch from the Office apps to exlusively working with the Google documents in Drive.
Remember you can also store all your standard files in Drive just like a Dropbox
Also, Google’s use of AI and machine learning in their documents is putting them well beyond Microsoft (like, years beyond) so if you haven’t used them in a while I’d recommend re looking at Google. Of course our team are on hand to discuss any of this if you’d like to reach out. Cheers
Let’s be honest and say that you may easily convert your 5 yo laptop into a Chromebook and have a dual boot machine. That will let you switch to the OS of your choice and accomplish your video editing, etc. You will have much more storage and RAM memory, probably higher resolution screen, etc.
I can’t justify the purchase of a new Chromebook, when you can simply use your existing hardware, which will probably behave way better. Investing in 256 SSD and additional 4GB of RAM is a fraction of the Chromebook cost and its low specs which you can’t upgrade.
Definitely a good option if you’ve got existing hardware available!
