Job Overview:

As a Sales Consultant at itGenius, you’ll be at the forefront of our mission to “Help small business play a bigger game,” directly contributing to our vision of “facilitating happy, healthy, productive teams fuelling important global purpose-work.” You embody the spirit of being the “Amazon Prime” of IT – highly responsive and providing solutions that are more convenient than Google or AI.

You’ll operate like a member of a “high-performing sports team,” demonstrating 10x thinking to achieve ambitious goals. As a “useful Geek,” you’ll leverage your love for technology to provide smart, human-centric solutions. This role is crucial in expanding our reach within the SMB market, acquiring new clients, and nurturing relationships that drive our growth towards becoming the global leader in remote-delivered IT services. You will be directly responsible for identifying opportunities, presenting our ingenious and seamless solutions, and ensuring our customers trust us to be an essential part of their success.

 

Core Accountabilities

The Sales Consultant will be held accountable for the following measurable objectives:

  • Individual Gross Profit Target Achievement: Consistently meet or exceed assigned quarterly and annual sales gross profit targets for new and existing clients
  • Sales Pipeline Health & Progression: Proactively manage and maintain a robust sales pipeline, ensuring a consistent flow of qualified leads and efficient progression of opportunities through all stages of the sales funnel.
  • Client Satisfaction & Smooth Onboarding: Ensure high levels of prospective client satisfaction throughout the sales process, culminating in a seamless and positive handover experience to the delivery and account management teams.

Key Responsibilities:

The day-to-day activities and duties of the Sales Consultant include:

  • Prospecting & Lead Qualification: Proactively identify, research, and qualify new sales opportunities within the small to medium business (SMB) market through various channels, including outbound prospecting, inbound lead follow-up, networking, and referrals.
  • Needs Assessment & Solution Design: Conduct in-depth needs assessments with prospective clients to thoroughly understand their business challenges, technology requirements, and strategic objectives.
  • Solution Presentation & Value Articulation: Develop and deliver compelling presentations and demonstrations of itGenius’s tailored IT solutions and services, clearly articulating their value proposition, benefits, and return on investment.
  • Proposal Development & Negotiation: Prepare comprehensive and accurate sales proposals, quotes, and contracts. Lead negotiations to secure mutually beneficial agreements and close sales.
  • CRM Management & Reporting: Maintain accurate, up-to-date, and detailed records of all sales activities, client interactions, pipeline status, and forecasts within the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system. Provide regular sales performance reports to the Head of Sales.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with the technical, operations, and delivery teams to ensure proposed solutions are feasible, client expectations are managed effectively, and client onboarding is seamless.
  • Market & Product Knowledge: Continuously stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, emerging technologies, and itGenius’s evolving product and service offerings to effectively position our solutions.
  • Post-Sales Handoff: Facilitate smooth and comprehensive handovers of new clients to the dedicated account management and service delivery teams, ensuring continuity and client satisfaction.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience: 2-3+ years B2B sales experience (ideally IT services or SaaS)

  • Track record of meeting/exceeding GP targets

  • Experience with CRM tools (Pipedrive, HubSpot, Salesforce, etc.)

  • Strong written and verbal communication

  • Familiarity with Google Workspace / cloud IT would be a plus

It would be nice if you have:

  • Proven track record in Managed Service Provider (MSP) sales.
  • AI Integration: Experience using AI (like GeniusAI) and automation to optimize workflows.
