Behind the scenes, we’re now in the sixth week of our Remote Work Playbook 8-week online course.
This week’s training was Remote Team Culture, Energy, & Health to help you not only keep track of the practical issues of getting online, tasks, and hitting KPIs, but also the issue of teamwork and morale.
Business operations rely on the strength of an amazing team. These colleagues see each other like family and are inspired by interacting every day. We’re not only passionate about technology and business growth, so we are sharing simple ways to help your team maintain a positive company culture.
Some of the key takeaways in the training were:
- Manage remote like you would a local team – Make sure that the team has a setup and structure. All the things that you primarily do in an office still need to get done and remotely.
- Teach them young – Having an onboarding and training process is absolutely vital for a remote team. We use Google Classroom to create resources and processes for our training. This is an opportunity for your newbies to get trained and know the tasks well.
- Personal feedback – Have a good process for checking in with your team on how they’re doing with their roles and personal life through the help of your HR team. We also use this as a performance review to align their personal aspirations with your business goals.
- Team get-togethers – For a fully remote team, we organise a team get together once a year at the minimum where we see each other face to face. Focus on team building and bonding to give the members an opportunity to share about themselves on a more personal level.
