The Meek Group operates different hotels across Australia, making it a challenge to maintain secure file storage. They’ve been using a lot of backup devices for years and even have a difficult time determining which device to use when looking for a file and also means the higher cost as they are dealing with several businesses. They need a tool that allows them to store and share files seamlessly in real-time. Find out as Renae Rogers shares in this video why they switched to Google.

My name is Renee together my family and I own and operate the meat group here on Haile street in Adelaide, we have four venues, hotels by day, nightclub by night. Before we started with xe genius, we were reliant on certain devices, we found it really hard to know where the current backup was, or which device we were meant to be using where we’d left off on that program.

Last time, we found ourselves having to find that local backup, whether it be on a USB, even having to come and meet each other across the state for that copy. It just wasn’t efficient. We were looking for a program and programs across all of our accounting and all of our tools and devices. That was one, we really needed that one home. And Google absolutely solves that problem.

The fact that itGenius, our premier Google partner, I just had complete faith in that right from the start, I never felt like they didn’t have the answers. And they were always providing the board solution.

Now that we’re using Google Drive for all of our file storage, it just makes it so much easier for our team to come together. We work from four different venues, like I say, often dad might be at the farm or interstate. No matter where you are, you feel like you’re immediately in touch, all you need to do is find any device, you can log on from anywhere in the world at any time and be right there with some notes in the side or a Google Hangout to be actually seeing that person and hearing them. There’s just so many ways to connect through Google Apps. And we have not done that before. It’s not something that would we’ve ventured into. And now we wouldn’t be without it.

Dad has always been proactive with technology, and has loved his phone. So I think Google Apps, having the apps on his phone and not having to use a computer, not having to actually be at the businesses that’s been great for that it’s given him the opportunity to travel to be at the farm, to communicate with documents that are live to him. So he can actually review and make decisions on the go, that don’t hold the rest of our management team up. I was worried at first that he wouldn’t be happy with changing over to a cloud. And he’s been so happy with it as have all of our management team, older young, everyone’s taking on board. And we haven’t looked back now that we have that regular support at the same price each month that just comes out of our bank. And we don’t need to worry about any big lump sum fixes or any support that’s not in tune with us when we’re looking for support.

They already know our account. They understand our team. And we feel like it’s a very quick fix whenever held up and I just I know that saves us money and our team have great confidence in using the support system. And obviously the online portal as well the training that we would pay huge amounts for that and being that’s incorporated in our monthly fee. It just works so well.
