Behind the scenes, we’re now in the fourth week of our Remote Work Playbook 8-week online course.

This week’s training was Healthy at Home.

We’re very passionate about being a high performer in the workplace and still maintain a balanced life. We shared tips on how to be healthy to be productive at work, especially these days most teams are working from home.

Some of the key takeaways from the training were:

  • Optimal home network setup – A basic requirement for you to get connected with your team and get your tasks done timely. Using a Chromebook or Chromebox reduces distractions and your ability to do other things that are not related to work. We also recommend a mesh wifi network system – like Google Wifi – to have a steady and blanket cover your home with a strong wifi signal.
  • Recommended workspace setup – Aside from the common hardware requirements, it’s also best to have a desk that’s comfortable and makes you focus on work like a standing desk. Turn off your phone notifications (or leave only for urgent ones) to make sure that you limit the distractions coming in.
  • Managing your energy and body – Set a boundary on your screen time before and after bedtime to maintain your energy levels. Decide on some basic exercises that you can do at home.
  • Personal performance – Our recommended book is Flip the Switch by Andrew May (although it is now out of print, you might be able to find an online copy). It has a Performance Diagnostic questionnaire that shows how you’re doing with your performance.
